Austin began his real estate career over 18 years ago with Austin Hill Realty, a family company focused on Savannah area real estate development to include luxury mansions, waterfront estates, condominiums, commercial buildings and land. In 2004 his career led him to Nashville, where he was an Affiliate Broker with Rick French of Christie's Great Estates of Belle Meade, and spent seven years in Nashville learning and executing the best practices of this high-end real estate firm. Four years ago Austin cofounded Location Gallery at Austin Hill Realty with curator Peter Roberts to support artists, while giving all proceeds back to local nonprofits. Since its inception Location has given in excess of $350,000 back to the Savannah community. Austin is the President of Austin Hill Realty and the founder of Austin Hill Partners within Washington Fine Properties.
Austin currently serves as Vice Chair for the Board of Trustees for the Historic Savannah Foundation and as a trustee for Leadership Savannah and Historic Trinity Methodist Church. He also serves on the Advisory Committee of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater in Mill Run, Pennsylvania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Savannah Philharmonic and as a Commissioner of the Housing Authority of Savannah.
Austin is an alumnus of The Savannah Country Day School and Stetson University. As a seventh generation Savannahian, Austin is an advocate for preservation and responsible development.
