Hal’s philosophy: Listening is more important than talking. Born in Corpus Christi and raised in Houston and Austin, he is a graduate of UNT Denton, Texas with a B.A. in Political Science.  Hal has a strong work ethic, a long track record of satisfied clients and is fully engaged in the process from start to closing and beyond.  Hal has a particular passion for assisting seniors and their families. Before entering Real Estate in 2008, Hal spent 15 years as a highly regarded mortgage banker, most recently as a private mortgage banker and underwriter with Wells Fargo. His residential lending background, in particular, has been of great value to his clients by providing them a broad knowledge of the real estate experience. “I believe my most solemn duty as a real estate broker is to help my buyers invest wisely, and for my sellers, to ensure they are selling at the best possible terms.” Prior to relocating to Santa Fe to continue his real estate career with Santa Fe Properties, Hal was a licensed Real Estate agent in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. with McEnearney Associates. When not serving the needs of his clients, Hal gives back to his community as a long-time volunteer with Kitchen Angels, delivering hot meals to homebound individuals. He is dedicated to quality time with family and friends and loves spending time with his rescue dog, Claire  hiking and enjoying the great Santa Fe outdoors.

Hal is an absolute joy to work with! I was a first-time home buyer with no clue about the process, buying a house completely by myself with my own savings, and with a low budget for the region (under $280K) – and Hal helped me buy my dream home. He’s fantastic with first-time home buyers; he walked me through each step of the process and made sure I understood everything. He genuinely cares about his clients – he steered me away from higher-price-point properties that would have been poor long-term investments, and trekked out to middle-of-nowhere houses with me. When we found my dream home he made sure we went to see it as soon as possible, and got my bid in within two hours, and celebrated with me when my bid was accepted. He also built into my bid that the seller would pay for all my closing costs – turns out, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the house without that! As the buying process went on he was always checking in to give me updates, make sure I understood my choices, and giving lots of emotional support.
