When our son and his husband decided to make the move to the Richmond area, I knew they should find a realtor that would understand them and their needs. They were moving from Florida where the social and political climate has become less friendly to the LGBT community. So when looking for a realtor, we searched for “LGBT friendly realtor.” A few sites popped up and Steve Davis with River Fox Realty appeared on them.
When I went to his agency site, I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the associates had gender pronouns listed with their descriptions. This put me immediately at ease with our choice. I sent an email, he responded quickly and we set up a call. After the call, Steve sent a link to a portal that had been set up with the criteria we wanted in the ideal house and also in the Richmond areas we were interested in. Since we were out of state, and “for sale” can quickly change to “pending sale,” we toured virtually. We scheduled three tours but figured we would do more as needed. Turns out the first tour we did was perfect for my son and his husband!
After we came to an agreement, Steve helped us set up an inspection, and then helped connect us with a company to verify the minor repair costs. We closed on the property and my son and his husband are planning their move in a few weeks.

Update: 2 1/2 years later, we are still in touch with Steve. If there is a home service we need a reference for, Steve has some recommendations. We love that he hasn’t been a realtor just for the home purchase but instead has become a trusted friend and resource.
