Having arrived in Ottawa in 1974 to get my degree at Carleton University, I fell in love with the city of Ottawa right from the start. After Carleton, I started out working in Ottawa's High Tech field on various contracts with both government and private sector organizations, in more recent years on the web and internet side of things. While working in the high tech field, I spent much of my spare time buying, renovating and selling real estate in Ottawa. That was so much fun, that I finally decided to do it full time and after completing the extensive RECO training joined the team at Royal LePage Performance Realty. As far as hobbies, fifteen years ago when my mother moved to town, I was searching for bridge and seniors clubs for her on the internet and noticed there was a huge gap when it came to senior's info on the web. Having experience in computers and the web enabled me to develop the Ottawa Seniors website at http://www.ottawaseniors.com to try to fill some of that gap. The site has been very successful, stays at the top of the search engines and gets around 80,000 visits a month, bringing local seniors together with over 1200 services. I still run that site today as a hobby and all of my real estate listings automatically get displayed on that site in addition to my real estate site to give them that much more exposure which results in all listings displayed high up in Google. Being involved with the seniors site has built up a great network of complimentary services that I can direct to those who need them, particularly when it comes to downsizing.
