Karen is passionate about real estate and loves New York. Working in the industry for nearly 30 years and living in the city for decades gives her a keen knowledge of the changes the market has experienced. Karen’s extensive background in real estate gives her exceptional knowledge of market trends, neighborhoods and property types, with valuation expertise in both the residential and commercial arena. She has acted as a consultant with local developers and investors on various projects including a condominium conversion, which involved everything from identifying the property to the construction/completion/sale of individual units. This industry aficionado also gained valuable experience in commercial financing, underwriting and appraisal. Karen spent 17 years as Principal Owner of Madison Appraisal Group, a successful Manhattan-based real estate appraisal and consulting firm with clients that included lenders, developers, architects, investors, the NYS Supreme Court and individual property owners. Her keen eye and seasoned insight give her a distinct edge in serving the gamut of real estate clients. Raised on Long Island, Karen moved to Manhattan in 1993. She graduated from NYU with a BA degree in Economics, and has lived in the West Village, Upper West Side, and now Hudson Heights.  She personally owns and invests in property, because she believes there is no better investment opportunity than in New York City real estate. Karen enjoys baseball (dedicated NY Met fan), biking, skiing and tennis. She is an active member/captain of the USTA; a board member and Women's Director of the Metropolitan Tennis Group (NYC's LGBTQ+ tennis group). Karen also volunteers regularly at God’s Love We Deliver and Food Bank NYC.
