Active Gay Community Leader: Currently living in San Marco...one of of the 'gayborhoods' near downtown Jacksonville FL, I actually 'came out' in a major, local Jacksonville (Florida Times Union) newspaper article (with full color photo) titled "COMING OUT" back in 1990. Shortly after that, I started the first local Human Rights Campaign chapter at a Jacksonville Gay PRIDE event. Not only was I a pioneer in living my 'authentic self' long before it was cool to be gay in Northeast Florida, but I continue today in being true to my community by paying it forward through my volunteer efforts with several organizations such as www.JASMYN.org in helping teens get the resources needed for some of the basic necessities of life such as a roof over their heads, enabling them to not only survive...but to gain confidence and flourish in our amazing, diverse community!
