I connected with Melissa at a very vulnerable point in my life — my engagement had ended abruptly and I was forced into a situation of financial insecurity that ultimately forced me to sell the 14 acre Forsyth County farm where I was raised and that had been in my family for four generations. I was devastated, scared, and stressed to my breaking point. Melissa connected with me on a very human level and demonstrated that she cared for me as a person, stepping up as a partner to help me through the most difficult situation of my life. I was overwhelmed and she showed me kindness, patience, and respect, helping me to avoid making rash, emotional decisions (of which I suggested many). She was one of the few people in my life at that time who helped me see that everything was going to be alright. She helped me navigate a very complex situation with many surprise hurdles and in the end I got everything I wanted — a selling price that exceeded my expectations without having to sell the land to a developer — a decision I would have regretted for the rest of my life. She is clever, knowledgeable, and creative with a gift for marketing and connecting with people — each of these traits were instrumental in guiding this turbulent chapter of my life to an ideal conclusion. Throughout this process Melissa was a guide and a confidant and I am very happy to call her a friend. She has a gift for helping people and I am so, so grateful to have met her when I did.
