Nicholas Acosta Named NAGLREP Orlando Chapter President
ORLANDO, July 22 – The National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals (NAGLREP) has announced the appointment of Nicholas Acosta as President of its Orlando Chapter.
Acosta’s first official duty as the leader of the Orlando Chapter will be hosting a virtual event on Wednesday, August 5, titled “Getting Back to Inclusiveness with NAGLREP Orlando.” Acosta will be joined by three NAGLREP Chapter Presidents during the event: Curtis Hunt from Chicago, Jamie Zapata from San Antonio and Christopher Lee Ayers from the Greater Detroit area.
Acosta was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in mass communications and media studies. He has combined his real estate and media skills with his popular Spotify podcast “Home to All.” Acosta’s Realtor focus is on the Downtown Orlando market, and he lives with his husband Lee in a luxury high-rise condo across the street from Lake Eola.
In his new role as Orlando NAGLREP Chapter President, Acosta stated his primary objectives include fighting for LGBT Americans to be added as a protected class in the federal Fair Housing Act, and promoting inclusiveness and unity in both housing and the wider society. He has also pledged to work on implementing peaceful and constructive measures to end systemic racism and to break down barriers created by economic hardships.
“We need to show others in the world that we are all the same,” Acosta said. “We need to educate on the damaging effects of xenophobia in this country towards those who are discriminated against. To achieve our goal, we will continue to raise awareness for the Equality Act.”
