Sarasota Pride Fest Continues Proud Tradition

Keith Kropp and Wayne Rogers are Realtors serving Sarasota and the surrounding areas

The annual Sarasota Pride Fest was held on October 15th this year in the heart of downtown Sarasota on the bayfront where Main Street meets Gulfstream Avenue.  Cindy Barnes, a community leader and local LGBTQ activist, heads the Sarasota Pride board that orchestrates this popular annual event.  This year over 6,000 men, women and children filled JD Hammel Park between Noon to 5PM to enjoy live entertainment including a “Pulse” commemorative performance by the Booker High School theatre department, Diversity – the voices of Sarasota, a Venice Theatre performance and a variety of live bands.

Festival goers also enjoyed beverages from the Tiki bar and beer garden, a wide variety of tasty treats from the food trucks, a family zone and vendor expo offering goods and services to the LGBTQ community.

The annual outdoor Pride Fest in a prominent location downtown is testament to the acceptance and tolerance of this beautiful Sarasota Community.
