Keith worked in advertising before starting his Real Estate Career after he took the advice of a good friend. He now has been in the business for over 30 years starting in New Homes Sales and Sales management.

He was then hired by The Walt Disney Company as the Manager, Residential Sales for the community of Celebration. He considered this to be an honor because of their reputation of Excellence and because they have high standards, He worked with some of the best; it was a wonderful experience for him. After leaving Disney he returned to sales and finally ended up in Sarasota, Florida.

Many of Keith’s stories reflected his commitment to excellence and human spirit and that age is never an excuse or barrier to what you want to accomplish in life.

Darla Michelsen: What do you love most about the area that you live and work?

Keith Kropp: I grew up in Chicago with cold and grey skies so when I came to Florida on a trip I fell in love with the sun shine! I love that Sarasota is more tropical and close to the coast. Sarasota is also considered the number one most cultural cities for the size with opera and studio theatres and unique restaurants. The city is supportive of Gay Pride, People seem happy and healthy here and I wish I had moved here 30 years ago!

DM: What Social cause are you most passionate about?

KK: Civil rights in general and Equality Florida and have been very involved in helping raise money.

DM: Do you have any hobbies or things you like to do in your free time?

KK: Working out and diet and health, I started taking piano lessons at the age of 50 and spending time with my Siberian Huskies, Dancer and Panda.

DM: What are 3 things that most people wouldn’t know about you?

KK: I did 3 body building contests, I do Meditation and I’m a dark chocoholic.

DM: If you could sing one song on American Idol what would it be?

KK: Never Never Land from Peter Pan

DM: If you could have any person dead or alive over for dinner who would it be and what would you serve them?

KK: Lyndon B. Johnson, I have always been impressed with him when I was a child I wrote him a personal letter and got a hand written letter back from lady bird. LBJ came from poverty and was a supporter of civil rights and Medicare; he had a passion for the underdog. He passed bills for safety issues and I have read many books about him. He was a fascinating man. Not sure what I would feed him? Maybe that answer is in a history book.

KK: Inner focus and setting and meeting goals

DM: What is your Kryptonite?

KK: Name calling and Trust
