Cody Julian was just 10 years old when he decided he wanted to sell real estate. Having moved over a dozen times before high school, he became obsessed with homes at a young age; today, he’s also obsessed with client service, organization, and detail, setting a momentous precedent that he’s unable — and unwilling — to slow down. Born and mostly raised in Austin, Cody has lived in almost every part of this city. A fourth-generation Austinite, his understanding of the region’s nuances — from topography to property types to infrastructure — is borderline intuitive. But before Cody began living his real estate dream, he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and worked at Google, climbing the corporate ladder there and managing top-tier products such as Google Maps, Google+, and Google Fiber. He then became marketing director at WeWork, leading the brand’s expansion into 25 new markets throughout the Western U.S. and Canada while managing a team of twelve direct reports. Cody earned his real estate license in 2009, but it was set to the side while he worked corporate for a decade. When he changed gears, it was as a brokerage marketing director before he became an agent in just six months. Cody works with all client types but specializes in relocators — a wise choice given the influx of people clamoring to experience the Austin lifestyle. Being an agent allows Cody to combine his passion for homes, design, and superior client service and boost it with his marketing skills, brand awareness, and market insights. Cody now lives in Northwest Hills with his husband, Brandon, and their rescue dog, Bagel. Along with spending time with friends and family, Cody enjoys live music, Mexican food, running at Lady Bird Lake Trail, and traveling. He also volunteers with Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, KUT and KUTX public radio, The Trail Foundation, and Big Bend Conservancy.
